Family is EVERYTHING!!
If over this year we have learnt anything it is that family is EVERYTHING! We are missing being able to spend time with extended family and friends but we are loving spending time with our spouse and kids without distractions like work, rushing from one place to the other and actually slowing down. We have been going out on walks together, riding bikes together, home schooling, taking the time to talk to each other, play games together, but most of all bonding!
Family session can be done in my Long Eaton Studio or out on Location. Location sessions are great fun with kids that don’t like to sit still or for seasonal images I mostly use locations in Sawley, Draycott and Breaston plus a few others. We are so lucky to have woodlands, riverbanks, canals, fields and lakes on our doorsteps all of which a perfect for your family exercise and beautiful photos.

My service is bespoke to all my clients I have props we can use (all are washed and steam cleaned between use) for your family to get the most out of the session. I will call you before your session to discuss your clothing choices, talk about your family, your kids likes and dislikes. We will talk through what you would like to do with the photos afterwards if there is a space on your wall just waiting for your family portrait or presents you want to send and finally decide on a location and date
I do not charge a session fee I take a £99 deposit to secure your booking which you then put towards one of the packages below that you choose at your viewing appointment approx 2 weeks after your session.

Family Session in the Studio or on Location
This is a bespoke session for a family of up to 10 people at my Long Eaton Studio or one of the beautiful local locations capturing fun as a family. The session lasts approx 1 hour while I capture a mixture or group and individual portraits of you all. Props and outfits can be provided depending on requirements after discussing the options before your session. if you chose to do a location session we make it fun for the kids and adults alike by capturing family interactions like piggybacks, jumping, spinning, cartwheels, playing chase, and hiding in the trees, bushes etc. As well as a few easy poses too. When booking your photography session although the experience is a major part of why and who you book to take your photographs the main reason for having your images taken is to have them displayed beautifully to look at daily on your walls or share as a family in a keepsake album that your children can grow up looking through.

When should I book my session?
I book the diary out approximately two months in advance but that being said my dairy is very fluid as I have to book around due dates with my newborn sessions so if you are wanting your session sooner contact us to find out what we have available.
Where does the session take place?
Studio sessions – these take place at my studio in Long Eaton NG10 1BE
Location sessions – these can take place as several local venues including woodlands, nature reserves, public parks, river walks or somewhere special to you and your family. We can discuss the options to find somewhere to suit you.
How many people can be included in the session?
Family groups in the studio can be upto about 10 people but if you are needing more then please let me know.
For outside sessions we can do bigger groups as we are not restricted my the space.
How long does the session last?
Family sessions are usually between 1-1.5 hours so we can get a great mix of group and individual photos and have time for a change of clothes too.
Do you provide clothing and props for the images or do I need to buy something?
Studio session – I have a lot of props we can use to create a great selection of images. I have a little clothes rail in the studio with little outfits for 6-24 months that have been made specifically for the studio. For older kids and parents please coordinate your outfits this doesnt mean match identically but make sure the colour tones work together. If mum would like to use some of the gowns in the studio then that is always posible too.
Location session – I always recommend you coordinate your outfits with not too many patterns or large logos we are wanting a timeless feel to your images. I have props that I will bring with me to use for kids to sit on or stand on to help create a se;ection of great images.
What should we wear?
Simple is best. I photograph baby’s and toddlers wearing clothing supplied by me or if you have a special outfit or two you would like to bring that is fine but please try to avoid bright colours or busy patterns as they are very distracting in the images. I recommend that the rest of the family wear clothing that coordinates without matching exactly (there is no need for everyone to be in blue jeans and white T shirts). Children should wear clothing they like and are comfortable in, although it is best to avoid characters or logos if possible.
How many proofs will I get to choose from?
I fully edit approx 30 images from your session so you have a beautiful collection of a variety of different group and individual shots to choose from. Your gallery will be ready for your viewing appointment usually within 2 weeks of your session.
